Trust in Him

Speaking to my heart, different scripture speaks to me on different days, and times, whatever. The point is my favorite scripture changes a lot. Right now the one that speaks to me is John 14:1-4. It says, from The Message,

“Don’t let this throw you. You trust God, don’t you? Trust me. There is plenty of room for you in my Father’s home. If that weren’t so, would I have told you that I’m on my way to get a room ready for you? And if I’m on my way to get your room ready, I’ll come back and get you so you can live where I live. And you already know the road I’m taking.”

Jesus said this. He promises that He will come and get me and all the people I love. I trust in Jesus, since He is the only one who will never, ever let me down, so this passage is incredibly special to me. It gets right to the heart of being a best friend to Jesus. We all need to try really hard to be as close to Jesus as possible. He will help us through all the troubling times. He will be there during the good too, helping you along. Believe me; it’s not easy at all. But it isn’t supposed to be easy. Anything worthwhile takes hard work and dedication. Sometimes it’ll be really bad, that’s how life is, and we need to overcome that fact. And we can because in 1 John 4-4 it says,

“Dear children, you have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

Yes, you will have your heart broken, people will let you down, and something horrible will most likely happen at one point and time in your life. It’s bound to take place. What sets you, a Christian, apart from the world is that Jesus walks with you. People will look at you constantly to see how you react to something. You are an example. I picture Jesus walking with me to class or the dining hall or whatever when I get upset. It’s a special feeling, because even though you can’t see Him, He really is there, walking with you all the time. He is the only one, ever, who will never let you down. He will never break your heart. He would never do that. Friends, boys, parents, family- they will all let you down sometime, maybe not even on purpose, but they will. Jesus won’t. Why wouldn’t you long to be His best friend? Take care.
